If you need to transfer money from your ActorsFCU account to another bank or credit union, there are a number of ways to accomplish it. Here are a few of our top suggestions:
1. Check. If you have checks for your ActorsFCU account, you could write yourself a check and deposit it elsewhere.
2. Bill Pay. You can use our Bill Pay service (within online or mobile banking) to transfer money to external accounts that are owned by yourself or others. First, you’d set up the receiving account as a “payee.” Then you issue a payment to that “payee.” The money is transferred electronically. One thing to keep in mind is that Bill Pay is only free for the first three months. After that, you will be charged $1.99/month (on the first of each month) for the service which includes an unlimited number of transfers. However, you can cancel anytime by contacting the credit union.
3. Wire Transfer. You could also send a wire transfer. A wire transfer is a fast (same-day or next-day) electronic funds transfer between banks/credit unions. A credit union employee will have to initiate the wire transfer for you, and we do charge $20/transfer for domestic wires. International wires are available at $45/transfer.
4. ACH origination. Lastly, it may be possible for you to initiate the transfers from the receiving bank. Some large financial institutions have the ability to originate an ACH which allows them to “pull” money from other financial institutions. A good place to start is to look for "external transfers" in your bank's online banking site or mobile app. If this option is available, you'll need your ActorsFCU account number and routing number.
